1. INTRODUCTION
As Hashem has commanded us to take care of our health, it is essential to learn different techniques to care for ourselves physically and emotionally. This enables us to better serve Him with vigor and strength. An example of this is being kind, patient, and gentle with family members, including parents, and reaching out to others in their time of need.
Since there are so many diets to follow, people randomly choose one that sounds good to them. People do not realize that one’s body already knows which foods are good for them and which are not.
If you choose a particular diet, you can check with the pendulum (that is the body’s energy) if that diet would be good for you. If the answer is yes, check that all the foods in that diet are okay for you to eat. It is also worth checking if you may eat a particular food item as often as the diet suggests.
This article is not a substitute for an allergy test. It is essential and helpful to check for food allergies. Sometimes, people experience sensitivity to a particular food, although they are not allergic to it. Food allergies can cause minor issues such as infections and ear and nose congestion. See my article on “Food For Thought” on this website for further discussion about food allergies.
This article is aimed at those with some health issue, whether big or small, major or minor. If you are in good health, I would not suggest that you change your current diet.
In this article, you can learn how to plan an individualized diet that will hopefully help you heal on some level. This method uses a pendulum to help you listen to your body’s needs. It also enables you to know what to eat and how much to eat according to your needs.
2. WHO IS THIS METHOD FOR
This method is for people who:
- Get sick often
- Experience constant stomach aches
- Suffer from sensitive skin
- Suffer from food sensitivity
- Suffer from other ailments, aches, and pains
- Have weight control issues (see below 6a and 6b)
3. WHAT IS A PENDULUM AND HOW TO MAKE ONE
A pendulum is an object made from a string or chain with a key or charm. You will need
- A shoelace (or any strong string) or short/medium chain.
- A key (preferably one that is not needed anymore) or charm.
Tie the key/charm to the string/chain.
4. HOW TO USE A PENDULUM
- You will ask a yes or no question. The pendulum will turn clockwise or counterclockwise. Or it might sway from side to side or forward and backward.
- To determine which way is ‘yes’ and which way is ‘no,’ you must:
- Hold up the pendulum and say, “which way is yes?”
- Wait for the pendulum to move in circles, (clockwise or counterclockwise) or a straight line (side to side or backward and forwards).
- Then say, “which way is no?”
- Wait for the pendulum to move.
- This might take some time to get used to.
- Think only about the item that you want to test at that moment.
- Thinking about more than one thing will confuse the accurate answer from coming forth.
5. GETTING ORGANIZED
- Those who eat according to their blood type, or are on another special diet, should make a list of all the foods that their particular diet allows. (It is dangerous to guess or assume one’s blood type).
- The foods you know are not good for you, do not put them on the list.
- The foods you never buy should not be put on the list.
- Those who are not on a specific diet should make a list of all the foods they eat.
- Since organization is important, divide the foods into six columns:
- protein (dairy, fish, poultry)
- fruits, nuts, seeds
- vegetables
- carbohydrates (grains, legumes, other)
- spices
- drinks – herbs (teas), coffee, and other beverages one drinks.
- With the assistance of the pendulum, you can check which foods on the list agree with you and which do not.
- After checking the foods, put them into three columns:
- Foods Allowed (through the use of the pendulum).
- Foods Forbidden (through the use of a pendulum).
- (?) foods that are still a question mark (from the use of the pendulum).
6. USING THE PENDULUM
- Take the pendulum in your hand and hold it in front of you in a comfortable position.
- Make sure you know which direction is yes and which is no.
- Ask;
- “Is whole wheat bread good for me? (If you are thinking of a particular brand, you do not need to give more details because the energy of a person’s body knows exactly what a person is thinking).
- Wait to see which direction the pendulum goes.
- If the answer is no, write under the “Foods Forbidden” column, whole wheat bread.
- “Is zucchini good for me?”
- Wait to see which direction the pendulum goes.
- If the answer is yes, write under the column of “Foods Allowed” zucchini.
- “Is whole wheat bread good for me? (If you are thinking of a particular brand, you do not need to give more details because the energy of a person’s body knows exactly what a person is thinking).
Continue down the list of foods until the end.
6a. For Chronic Disorders
For those who need to be more specific about what they eat at each meal due to chronic disorders, continue to the next paragraph. One may also try this to control weight gain or weight loss.
- Once you have finished going down your list, make another three columns for your three daily meals:
- Breakfast – Lunch – Dinner
- From all the “Foods Allowed” ask;
- Is zucchini good for me to eat at breakfast?
- Wait to see which direction the pendulum goes.
- If one got a “no” answer, check if zucchini will be good for you to eat at lunch and dinner..
- Is zucchini good for me to eat at breakfast?
Continue with your food list.
6b. Amounts To Eat
(for chronic disorders & weight control)
- Look at your breakfast list. Let’s take seven examples of what one might have on his list for breakfast.
- Spelt bread, avocado, eggs, cucumber, tomato, lettuce, and sprouted (soaked) split peas (see the article “An Essential Boost Of Nutrition”)
- Pick up the pendulum and ask about each item separately. Wait for the pendulum to answer before continuing to the next question.
- Is spelt bread good for me to eat this morning?
- Wait to see in which direction the pendulum goes.
- If yes, is one slice good for me?
- Is two slices good for me? Is the answer no?
- Less than two slices?
- Is spelt bread good for me to eat this morning?
- Is cucumber good for me to eat this morning?
- One cucumber? More than one? Less than one? One and a half?
- Is an egg good for me to eat this morning? Answer is no?
- Is egg white okay for me to eat this morning?
- Is egg yolk okay for me to eat this morning?
- If the answer to an egg was yes, then ask, one egg? Two eggs?
With the pendulum, check before each meal to see which foods would be best for you to eat at that moment. This is done each day anew until one feels better or stronger. This can also be done when a parent makes a school lunch for a child with food sensitivity.
7. WHAT IS THE CONCEPT OF THE PENDULUM
Every person has the energy within, although they may feel low energy. Regardless of your energy level, you can still use a pendulum. Although it might not always work, this is not determined by your energy level.
Some people are more sensitive to the energy surrounding them. Some can be somewhat sensitive but do not realize what they are feeling, while others have absolutely no concept of it at all.
For example: Chana was holding her cell phone and thought she felt some vibration. She asked her friend Michal to hold the cell phone to see if she too feels the vibration. Since Michal did not feel anything, she said, “Here comes Naomi, she would know.” As soon as they gave Naomi the cell phone, she confirmed that yes, indeed, there is a vibration coming from the cell phone.
When we hold onto the pendulum and ask a ‘yes’ and ‘no’ question about which foods might be good for us, it is our energy that is responding through the pendulum. Some people are more attuned to their body and feel pain or discomfort immediately when they think about eating some kind of food. Or they will touch a food that is not good for them and instantaneously feel unwell. When this happens, you do not need a pendulum to tell you that a particular food is not good for you.
8. HOW ACCURATE IS THE PENDULUM AND CAN I TRUST THE ANSWERS I GET
- There are times when this method works and at other times it does not seem to work.
- Sometimes the more one depends on the pendulum, the less it seems to work.
- At times, this method can work wonders for a lengthy period of time and then suddenly (or little by little) it stops working. When this happens, a person can take a break from using the pendulum. At some point in the future one can come back to using a pendulum and find that it works again. (Sometimes as long as a few years later!)
- When someone continuously gets the same answer over and over again whether it is “no” or “yes”, they should test the pendulum by asking about a food that they know for certain they really can (or cannot) have. Since they know the answer before even asking the pendulum, this allows the person to check and see if the pendulum is working accurately.
- For example, I have a list of five foods in front of me. For every single one of the foods, the pendulum says “yes”, that I can eat it. If I am unsure that I can trust the pendulum’s answers, I think of a food item that I know for sure I am not allowed to eat, to see if I now get a “no” answer.
- If I got a “yes” on a food that I know for sure is not good for me, then I will put down the pendulum and try again a different time.
9. CAN THE PENDULUM METHOD BE DONE FOR SOMEONE ELSE
- Yes, one can do it for someone else.
- For a friend or family member who knows you are checking for them:
- If the other person is in front of you or on a phone line, they should think of the same food item that you are checking.
- If the person is not around or not on a phone line, then you can check by yourself.
- If the other person does not know that you are checking for them, you can check by yourself.
- For example, you have a family member (husband or an older child) that has a health issue. When you want to prepare food for them you can use the pendulum to see if a particular food item will be good for them at a particular time.
10. TROUBLESHOOTING
- There are times when the pendulum will show that a person can eat a particular food and after the meal the person will feel unwell. This is often because a person has not checked with the pendulum how much of this particular food item should be eaten. A person who experiences constant pain or pain after eating certain foods needs to check exactly how much they should be eating. For example, while holding the pendulum, Yaakov asked, “Will my body tolerate almonds now?” The pendulum gave a ‘yes’ answer, so Yaakov went ahead and ate a handful of almonds. Afterwards he experienced pain. Apparently, a handful was too many at once for Yaakov’s specific needs.
- It is important to remember to keep focused on one particular food. If you or another person sitting with you are thinking about something else while waiting to get an answer, the pendulum will usually answer the question or thought that the person is thinking about.
- At times the pendulum might not work when someone is extremely tired.
